Shawna K. Whaley was born in Savannah, Georgia on February 14, 1979. She is the middle child with three full-siblings and one half-brother. Shawna primarily grew up in Southeast Ohio in Athens County. She started babysitting at an early age, around 9 1/2 years old and has always enjoyed reading to children and writing little stories and poems.

Shawna K. Whaley has been divorced since July 2014. She knows that there is a lot of hard work involved with being a single mother of 2 daughters, but there are even more rewards, and she wouldn't trade them for the world. When not writing, she works full-time in customer service.

She wrote her children's book 'Not Bedtime, Almost' for her oldest daughter, Rachel, when she was around 2.

It has been her dream to become a published author, and now she is looking forward to sharing her work with you. In her spare time, Shawna is working on two separate projects: her life story and a novel for mom and dad to read and hopes to one day finish it and share that with you, too.
